1.We never pay full price.
Every week I check the weekly ad at CVS and Walgreens and buy all of our family essentials there to save a minimum of 50%. (For this weeks list comment “deals”)
2.We cut unused subscriptions.
Went through every recurring charge and canceled anything we weren’t actively using.
3.We cook at home and meal prep. Produce gets used before it goes bad instead of tossed, and we’re not scrambling for takeout on busy nights.
4.We follow the 48 hour rule on Amazon. Only reorders like dog food get an automatic yes. Everything else waits 2 days before we buy to cut impulsive spending.
5.I use giftcards to pay.
I use apps like Fetch Rewards and Fluz to get digital giftcards to pay for products and earn cash back on that amount.
6.We refinanced our cars to get a lower interest rate and lower payment.
This saved me $146/month and I kept the same bank. I simply called fairwinds and asked if they had a refinance available for a better rate. It took me 5 minutes and I signed a form and that was it. Most people just dont know that’s even an option.
7.We meal plan every Sunday for dinners that week.
I check what we already have to make sure we dont waste and select the recipes for that week then only buy those ingredients so we have a plan for how to use the groceries. This has reduced our waste by $150/month.
8.CASH BACK APPS –
I check for cash back on everything we buy. This is 2026, there’s an app for everything. I use cash back apps for gas, oil changes, clothes, online shopping, groceries, gift cards you name it!
